Joseph A. Pinto

barflypoet & author of dark fiction

My short story LUNCH has been published in Australia’s horror magazine Midnight Echo, Issue 10, edited by Craig Bezant.   It’s their ‘ghost’ issue – a must read for fans of things that go bump in the night – and more than 100 pages of ghoulish fun for all!

LUNCH was conjured from a poem I had written back in December 2012 titled ‘Just Not Here,’ a reflection on someone who has tragically suffered the loss of a child, as well a house that will never again be a home.

Authors also contributing to Issue 10 include Gary A, Braunbeck, Martin Livings, A.J. Brown, Richard Farren Barber, Robert Mammone, Alan Baxter, Jacob Lambert, Rebecca Fung and Greg Chapman.

I’m trying to taint minds, one reader at a time! 😉 lol Thank you; this is one of the few anthologies I’ve actually written for, as opposed to writing something for ‘me’ and then attempting to find a home for it (which is often hard, because many of my stories don’t fit the common call lol). Well, you’re support never ceases to amaze me!! 🙂

Of course, i had to read your story first. Damn! What a twist! Sean should have eaten his lunch…. Im off to read the magazine cover to cover now 🙂

I am so appreciative that you’ve picked up a copy! I don’t even know what to say…other than thank you, thank you!! lol 🙂 I hope you enjoyed ‘LUNCH;’ it was very important for me to keep my story laden with its sorrowful tone, as well my use of dialogue which provides the climatic twist. ‘LUNCH’ is a ghost story on many different levels, aside from the obvious one. So appreciative of your support, Ms. Owl!

Are you kidding me? Your writing is bloody amazing and for all it’s worth, I think your twisted writings should end up in every single horror thing out there! I’m sure one day I’ll be having a famous author for a friend 😉 Just don’t forget us, mare mortals 😉

Australia, very cool… I think you can now claim to be “world renowned”, since you’ve been published down under….
