Joseph A. Pinto

barflypoet & author of dark fiction

I‘m fuzzy at the edges while you scrape
sharp lines at each of my corners. I try to
protect myself but still you find a way
around my childproof barriers. A chord is
struck each time your mouth twists and
I feel toddler small—
spanked in self-serving lessons of
obedience, cheeks reddened;
chest heaving with perpetual adolescent sobs.

  1. Great prose, as usual, Joe! 🙂

  2. A long forgotten memory came back, while reading this piece. Some would fear away from such memories. Not me, I am refined by the fire, never burned. Thank you for the heartfelt words.

  3. Joseph Pinto says:

    Why hello Apollo, thank you for joining my world 😉 I offer an eclectic sampling here on my blog, but in terms of my poetry, I embrace my pain and darkness, wear it proudly and defiantly. Anything less, for me, would be selling out. Thank YOU for reading 🙂
