barflypoet & author of dark fiction

So we all have pain…regrets…and some feel them more tangibly than others.

Be it a gift or curse, I have carried these things all my life, both physically and spiritually, and now I am trying to put words to what others have suffered for so long.

I don’t know if I’ll do any of you justice, but at least you’ll know that you’re heard…

I have held a piece of someone else’s pain, and now share it to free a small part of their burden.

‘it hasn’t escaped her’

sometimes she gets lost
in the cool shade beneath her trees
eclipsed in the tales of two men
one she wakes to every morn
the other still attached
an ethereal cord
from many years grown long.

she wouldn’t trade her life
for the lure of anything else
but on occasion
when her past crosses the sun
her soul gives a little shiver
her toes curl into
the velvety dew of her lawn.

a poem for an anonymous reader
and their pain…

Well said, both the narrative and the poem. 😏👏
