It’s time for the ‘What Pains You Project.’ I listen privately to your pain and write an anonymous poem dedicated to you…
‘you get what you pay for’
piece by piece
he deconstructed himself
starting with the roof
the timber, the floor
until he chiseled away
at the very foundation
that kept him rooted
to the ground.
reflecting back she realizes
he would have failed
whether steel beamed or
a shack never meant
for the storms.
a poem for an anonymous reader and their pain…
