Joseph A. Pinto

barflypoet & author of dark fiction

i choose to drink alone…

‘reality settles in’

young, in love

inseparable at the bar

finishing each other’s sentences

sipping each other’s drinks

perfect, so profound

i’d like to see them in 10 years

silent static between them

recalling how once

they denied separation of skin

how once they rang in new morns

now together they cry check, please

after the first round.
