boxcars
throw your favorite tee on
the one with that band
i never paid attention who
but i can hum all their songs
let’s jump boxcars
head to the north side
maybe we’ll hit the coast
work on that cottage
you always wanted to own
we’ll use the flocks overhead
to measure the changing of the seasons
conversation to keep clarity
inside our heads
we’re both a bit insane, aren’t we
travelling rails
dreaming of cottages and
birds with wings outstretched
me humming tunes
i could never remember to forget.
