Joseph A. Pinto

barflypoet & author of dark fiction

spinnin’ the greatest hits from the barflypoet yesterday and today!

a few years, i reached out to readers and asked quite literally for their pain.

long before i became a reiki master teacher,

and long before it became clear i was an intuitive empath,

i knew i had the ability to help others.

so i asked for their pain with the concept

i would put poignantly to words what they otherwise could not.

their pain was to be explained briefly and i would tap into the rest.

and so my ‘what pains you project’ was born.

much to my disappointment, though, many of those i wrote for

(who always stayed anonymous) never bothered to say a simple thank you,

and eventually i halted my project.

maybe i’ll start it again one day. maybe this time, it will be appreciated.

ghost haunting the halls

so desperate are you

to communicate with the living

as they live lives

pushing you deeper

into the corners you inhabit.

across rooms you flit

dismissed as mere shadow

while all your cried anguish

passed off as howling on the wind.

that great light of salvation

shines just beyond your flailing hands

yet you seek not rest

only a greater want to tear open

eyes sewn shut to your existence.
